Nautical Inspiration
Once summer comes to an end and we see the light in the main house we will begin to focus more on emptying the boat house room and starting to decorate. This weekend I was very inspired by a little shop in Lake Geneva, Brick & Motar Home.

I could have bought the whole store! As much as I love Pottery Barn, Brick & Motar Home puts it to shame.

The Kitchen Details
Pendants: The two pendants fall just above the island which bring a little nautical/lakey effect to the room.
Beams: The beams in the kitchen were put in to add more character into the room as well as take a little something from the Great Room into the kitchen. The ceilings were painted in both the Great Room and the kitchen to empathize and bring attention to the beams.
The Bar: Lots of storage space since our wine salesman spoils us! Also, a nice counter top for space for specialty drink barrels and appeys!
Island/Cabinets: You can see the style of the cabinets in the photos above. The details below the island matches the same style of the cabinets.
Kitchen Handles: Dark brushed metal that match the dark granite of the island and brings out some of the darker color in the main kitchen granite.
Much more to come!

Before and After: The Kitchen
This post is to give you the basic concept of the soon to be complete kitchen. My follow up post will come soon showing you all the little details that you do not see here or items that have not been placed yet.
BEFORE
Plan: We moved the door from what you see here to the space between the cabinet and the sink area. A larger bench will go where the open wall will be.
