My favorite holiday is right around the corner, the Fourth of July! Every year I have spent my Fourth of July at the lake. A few things never change from this weekend...
1. Pancake Breakfast:
The Lions Club throws this event every year in the Williams Bay park. With a short walk down the lake path you get all you can eat pancakes, sausage links (best ever) and carton of milk. It is pretty impressive how many people these guys can cater to so quickly.
2. Fireworks (obviously)
You can see them by boat or you can walk the lake path to Conference Point. I think my guests this weekend would rather skip the walk... ;)
3. Cherry Cheesecake
My grandma used to make me Cherry Cheesecake every year for my birthday and now my mom has kept the tradition alive! It is the best!
4. Bonfire.
Now, this is Bob's new and improved pit. We tested it out this weekend and it worked great! Now all we need are the new marshmallows I have been hearing all about...I guess they help make a cleaner s'more. (Back in the old days my Dad would make the s'mores for the kids and Sugar would just lick his hands in between jobs....)
There are many more activities for the weekend, however, these are just my staples for the past 27 years!

The Den
The Den is the room that connects off of the Great Room and overlooks the lake through the french doors. This room will draw those who want to relax on watch TV on the couch or work at the small desk in the back nook of the room. I either see the room being soft or bright mixes of yellows, blues and greens with the dark hardwood floor that just got stained.
Some accents to the room:

Coming Soon...
Here is a picture of the graite and color of the walls in the kitchen against the cabinets! How perfect does the orangish/camel color bring out the orange in the granite!?
Now... if you remember from a couple months back... I did tell you that Soda loves orange! I wouldn't lie to you!

Update 1
We are back in North Bay after lot's of sun, family and friends! We got home around 12am on Thursday and dug right in with a kitchen meeting at 7am on Friday.
First things first... we are not as far along as we had hoped, but with a few more baby steps we will be there! It has become very difficult to stay patient and let things happen as they go. I am so anxious for all of our visions just to be done!
Here is the picture of the backdoor. The cabinet next to the door will stay the same as we had up in 113 for coats and misc.
What you see here is the island looking away from the great room. The right door you see is a bedroom off of the kitchen. The left is a bathroom that also connects in the bedroom.
With the new member of our family, Dan, and our new wine enthusiast, Bob, we had to create a bar that would be wine friendly. Here you see the slots on either side for white and red.
Here is the kitchen looking in from the entrance hallway!
These fixtures will go above the island.
The beams on the ceiling were added to carry out the beams that are in the great room.
More to come.
