South of the Border

See you all in a couple weeks! We are headed to South Bay to soak up the sun and the much needed relaxation! Adios!

Sugar

We made it and the feeling is bittersweet! We are oficcially out of 113 Conferance Point Road. Well, all but one. We spent last week digging up the whole front of the house looking for our best friend, Sugar. We still have yet to find her but soon enough we will. If I could find my moms jewels that she misplaced for over 5 years I can find Sugar! Hope the new owners don't mind a huge hole in their front yard :0!

Home Stretch

Well, this is it! The last moving weekend and we have all hands on deck!
The POD was delivered this week and is ready for us to load up. It seems crazy that just about everything in our house will fit into this storage unit and the coach house. Unfortunately, this does mean that then everything will need to be loaded into the house once finished and ready... So even though we are on the home stretch, I think we are far from "home." I hope you all have a sunny weekend!

More Progress

My weekend started off great at Scuttlebutts in Lake Geneva. The atmosphere is not the best, but the view and Friday fish fry make up for it.

When we got home I remembered my purpose for the weekend...

When Dan got to the bottom of the hill, he remembered his too... After all the rock movement and the powerwash, the creek looks great!!

As most of you know, my mom keeps just about everything and many times we question some of the things she keeps...not this time! She saved the old give away from the Bulls playoff games back in the 90's! I was lucky enough to get to borrow the hat for the game.

So, my weekend also ended great watching the Bulls Beat the Heat while Noah put his guns away...doesn't get much better than this!

Expect a Miracle

On Mothers Day my mom had a suprise up her sleeve to show my sister and me. We were already excited because it meant we were going on a walk on the lake path on the other side of the lake! After a short 15 minutes of walking we arrived at our destination, the "Expect a Miracle Path & Mansion." It is a white-fenced path with inspirational quotes painted along the rails. Above the path is a beautiful white mansion with perfect landscaping that is designed for the pleasure of the people who pass by. There is even a case that houses a signing book for visitors to share their sentiments of the house and the brief time they spent passing it. One of the quotes that got us thinking was "If you knew you would not fail, what would you do?" Quite a question. To read more on the story about the house and path visit http://www.expectamiraclemansion.com/

As we kept walking, we came across a bell. You are to ring the bell and make a wish on a miracle you would like to come true. My mom, sister and I rang the bell together each wishing on a miracle. On our way back we each rang the bell seperatly again wishing on another miracle to come true. Guess we all have a lot of dreams :)

I hope all of you have the chance to stop by the path and wish for your miracle. Thank you to my mom for showing this to me and sharing with me on Mother's Day. You are the best and I am so lucky to have you as my Mom! Thank you for everything that you are and do for me. xoxo

Whistle While We Work

This weekend was a working weekend. Our boss, Soda, was in charge on Saturday directing the moving of the boxes. We moved boxes from our attic down the hill and up to the new attic. These boxes consisted of decorations, china, photo albums, my moms wedding gown, children's books, Christy's college notebooks (yep...) and about any game a kid under the age of 5 would want to play. She saves everything!! However, I must admit, she is very organized.

Our boss, Bob, was in charge on Sunday directing the landscaping work. The main task was fixing the stream by restacking all of the rocks. Christy, the manager, and Dan were a big help digging the rocks, pulling the weeds and placing the rocks in their new spots. I was in charge of getting all the leaves and pine needles out of the stream.

While I was working I heard some chatter about a waterfall. There are a ton of rocks to be dug still and personally I think they are getting a little ahead of themselves, but what do I know, I am just their sidekick. (but would be really cool if it works!) It was a very productive sunny weekend in the Bay! I am so excited about all the progess that is going to be done this week...stay tuned.
